Still Under Construction!!
For Mother's Day I decided to make my mom {the best nurse ever} a stethoscope cover. I was already thinking of how I could do it when she called me on the phone with an idea for something else I could make: stethoscope covers. So then I had to make her one. I was planning on making several but the process of trial and error took more time than I anticipated and in the end I had one that seemed to be a success. That was until she started using it at work and then figured out a small flaw in my design, it was too tight i.n the top to allow the ear buds to open fully.
Another nurse at work requested one so I altered the design and will see how it works for her. If I can get a good design figured out that will work for everyone, then I am sure you will be seeing them in my shop too.

A Sneak Peek At My Craft Process
My Badge Blossoms are such a big hit so I decided to give a little sneak peek into how I make them {can't give away all my secrets}. I took a few photos as I was making these beauties.
First I make my buttons...love this part. I love to make fabric buttons because they always match and look awesome. Plus they are lots of fun to make. I am sure I will be coming up with more great uses for these buttons.
Then I cut out my fabric squares out of my chosen fabric. When I have multiple orders, I like to have all my buttons made and all my fabric cut before I start to make the flowers. My table is covered in these little piles all ready to be made.
Each little fabric square gets folded and pinned in place. I think they look like little grasshoppers at this point.
Once it is assembled, I have a beautiful Badge Blossom ready to make it's new owner smile.

Orders, Orders, and More Orders!
This week has been insane. I have gotten tons of orders for my Badge Blossoms. I need to get some made and listed in my shop online. They are selling like hot cakes at work and through facebook and I just haven't been able to get any extra's done.
Aren't they all wonderful?! It is hard for me to let them go. No 2 are exactly the same which makes them even more fun.

Summer Is Here!!!
Summer has officially begone! Evan is out of school, the days are getting longer, and the pool is open. Me and the kids spent everyday we could at the pool last week {as evident in my lack of postings lately}. But just when we get the family membership to the local pool and are all excited, the weather cools off and it is too chilly to go swimming.
{Evan has been trying to look "cool" lately} |
{I love this picture of Miss Emma, even if she is looking the other way} |

I just have to share my sisters bag with you. She picked out the fabric she wanted, brought it to me, and then I took care of the rest for her. It was fun letting her design her own bag. I am thinking if it would be possible to somehow allow my customers to do the same through my Etsy shop. I am not sure how it would work but it is an idea for the future.

Messenger Style Hobo Bag
I promised you I would share a picture of my bag when I got it all finished. TaDa!! Here it is. My new Messenger Style Hobo Bag. I must say I LOVE this fabric.
The inside has a pocket for my phone, ink pen, and another extra pocket that I am keeping my Mini Wallet in to keep it handy.
You know I had to model it for you! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I am off to finish my sister's bag and then too the pool!!

What I Have Been Up To This Week
I haven't gotten much done this week at all in the way of crafting. I did however get my car scrubbed out, finally got a name for all my stomach pain, got Miss Emma registered for kindergarten next year, took the kids to swim, and got a couple workouts in.
I am excited to say though, that almost all my supplies I ordered from fellow Etsy sellers arrived and I whipped up a couple super cute key fobs like the one pictured. I have been super excited and eager to make these and was not disappointed one bit with how they turned out. I might work on making a tutorial to share how to make them.
